Job Description
Our client in the Insurance space with location in Lagos is urgently in need of transaction Officers that will handle the role of Bank Reconciliation Officer. the job role entails you to oversee the responsibility for the prompt reconciliation of all bank accounts within the company, zero tolerance of unposted transactions at month end, Rendition of all reconciliation reports within advised turnaround time of 3 day after books closure, Percentage of total transaction errors against total number of transactions processed (5% threshold).
Job Functions:
• Responsibility for the prompt reconciliation of all bank accounts within the Company.
• Ensure that Bank Reconciliation statements are prepared promptly and the transactions posted as they occur.
• Prepare proofs for selected GL accounts in use by CPU
• Ensure no outstanding entries exist in the books aside from unpresented cheques
• Ensure all bank reconciliation statements are submitted to Internal Control and other stakeholders within the time frame
• Work closely with Fincon and consultants on resolution of issues identified.
• Ensure all month end entries are properly posted and balanced
• Ensure prompt postings of all journals, treaties and facultative as at when due
• Ensure that all GL postings are backed with sufficient documentations and approvals
• Follow up with team members on correction of errors observed in GL postings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
– HND/BS.c Accounting
– Minimum of 1 year cognate experience
