The Head of Finance will provide strategic and operational leadership for the financial management of the Microfinance Bank. This role is responsible for overseeing all financial functions including regulatory reporting, budgeting, financial planning, liquidity management, internal controls, and compliance with relevant banking regulations. The ideal candidate must have deep knowledge of the microfinance and banking regulatory environment, and the ability to align financial strategy with the bank’s overall mission of promoting financial inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead all financial operations, including accounting, business case projection, forecasting, and statutory reporting in compliance with CBN regulations.

•Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual Management Report.

•Manage cash flow, liquidity positions, funding sources, and correspondent banking relationships.

•Monitor pool rate, cost of funds, and key financial ratios on a weekly/monthly basis.

•Ensure proper deposit calculation for preparation of NDIC premium payment report.

•Ensure proper GL maintenance, reconciliation, and balancing.

•Prepare loan restructuring calculations, documentation, and reports.

•Ensure insurance coverage and premium payments on all loans and securities.

• Liaise with auditors and regulators during examinations and audits.

•Ensure adequate loan loss provisioning in line with regulatory guidelines.

•Participate in policy and process reviews before board/director approvals.

 •         Ensure regular monitoring of all payables and receivables.

•          Carry out all other responsibilities as stated by the Directors.

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

•A recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, ICAN) is required.

•Minimum of 5–7years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior finance role within a regulated financial institution, preferably a microfinance bank.

•Strong knowledge of CBN regulations, Microfinance Policy Framework, and other relevant financial sector laws.

•Proven experience in regulatory reporting, financial modeling, and budgeting.

•Proficiency in accounting software and core banking systems.

•Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

•High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
